Not only is this one of my favorite songs ever, I believe God used this song to remind me that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). I was struggling with intense confusion over what I believe when I first heard this song seven years ago. The Devil was trying to convert my confusion into doubt. Praying was hard. Reading my Bible was hard. Listening to music was not hard. The line in this song that says “You take my fear and doubt and make me a place to abide in, to make me feel like a child again” reminded me of Romans 8:28 and filled my soul with the belief that God would take my fears and doubts and turn them into a place where I am resting in Him, rather than wrestling with Him. God can use His word when it’s memorized and written on your heart even when you’re struggling to open your Bible and read it. I’m so thankful that God has taken me out of that depressing state and filled my soul with joy and rest. I believe God loves and uses music, and this is one such example in my life. All praise and glory to God.
